Summer Camp Update

Now that things are opening up, June summer camps will also be opening at partial capacity. I am so excited to see the students again! We will keep things small and safe and the kiddos temperatures will be taken at the door. Frequent hand washing will be routine, since, after all, we are always pretty messy and washing our hands frequently anyway! If your student has a runny nose or is sneezing, please keep them home; we can make up the time for you at a later date (they can make up a day with a different camp or during the fall when I have after-school classes,) or he/she can join us via Zoom.

Zoom has its benefits! I’ve actually really enjoyed the Zoom classes I’ve done! You can see a little better since the instructor is right in front of you on your screen, you can go back and watch the video recording in case you missed something or want to do it again, and you can feel like you’re there with everyone! Zoom is a great option. The sessions are Monday through Friday from 10:15-11:45am for morning painting on canvas. This is an easy one for you to join in on and there are materials packages you may wish to choose from HERE.

The afternoon session is from 1:00-2:30pm for various other media such as oil pastels, watercolors, collage, pottery painting, etc. The paintings/activities will be posted on the calendar to choose from.

Each Zoom session, which includes access to the video tutorial for the whole summer, will be $20 for one session or $95 for 5 sessions. You can join any session you wish, whether they are consecutive or you decide you want to do one watercolor in the afternoon on the Magical Marine Life camp and two morning canvas paintings on the Adventure Awaits camp and two others that fall at other camp times. You will have access to the video of the session until the end of the summer. There is a materials list or you can purchase materials online HERE.

My advice? If you are thinking of doing a set of five Coffee and Canvas Zoom classes for $95 and they are all canvas-painting classes, for example, I would invest in a supplies package so you can keep your own paints and brushes. That way you can create with the five guided tutorials and have materials left over to play with for the rest of the summer… or maybe you’ll join another camp day just for fun!

One thing… please do not share the painting tutorial video, which will be password protected, with friends who have not paid for the class. It is not fair to everyone else who has paid and it is taking away income from a small local business sole proprietor! Thank you so much for understanding and for your cooperation!
